Retno Wahyuningsih is a Professor at the Department of Parasitology, Universitas Kristen Indonesia and an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Parasitology, Faculty of Medicine, Universitas Indonesia.
Professor Wahyuningsih is involved in various professional organizations and sits on the Board of Directors of the Asia Pacific Society for Medical Mycology (APSMM). She is also a board member of the Asia Fungal Working Group (AFWG), under the International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM), and a member of the Indonesian Medical Association. Previously, she served as the President of Perhimpunan Dokter Spesialis Parasitologi Klinik Indonesia (PDSParKI) from 2015 to 2020.
Professor Wahyuningsih has reviewed numerous manuscripts for various scientific journals and is an Editor at Majalah Kedokteran Indonesia and Majalah Kedokteran UKI. She has also spoken at many national and international meetings on infectious diseases, including Trends in Medical Mycology (TIMM), International conference on Cryptococcus and Cryptococcosis, Advance against Aspergillosis (AAS), Perhimpunan Mikologi Kedokteran Indonesia (PMKI), and the European Congress of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ECCMID).
