Ariya Chindamporn is an Associate Professor at the Department of Microbiology, Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University. She is also a Consultant with the Mycology Unit, King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital, where she previously served as Head of Department until 2015.
Dr Chindamporn completed her MS (Microbiology) at Mahidol University in 1980, before receiving her doctoral degree in Basic Sciences from Nagoya University, in 1995.
Dr Chindamporn currently sits on the committee of the Asia Fungal Working Group (AFWG), a working group under the International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM). Her research interests are in molecular diagnosis, molecular identification, epidemiology and pathogenesis of medically emerging fungi and parafungi, including AIDS-related mycoses and pythiosis.
