AFWG Education Module 6: Antifungal Stewardship

An antifungal stewardship program improves the appropriate use of antifungal drugs in order to improve patient outcomes, prevent the development of resistance, and reduce costs. However, some hospitals have yet to see the value in having such a program.

In this module, Professor Bart-Jan Kullberg discusses the importance of antifungal stewardship in hospitals and presents data on the untoward effects of not having a coordinated program in place. Steps to implement antifungal stewardship are also presented.
